Symposium on the Semiotic Writings of Charles S. Peirce. 5-8 March 2005, Doubletree Hotel in Bakersfield, California, in conjunction with the Annual Meeting of the Society for the Advancement of American Philosophy. The primary purpose of this symposium is to announce the initiation of a new project in Peirce studies, a book on the semiotic writings of Charles S. Peirce, to be co-edited by Vincent Colapietro and Charls Pearson.  It will assemble an international meeting of Peirce scholars, actively engaged in research on the topic of Peirce’s semiotic writings, in order to focus attention on this neglected aspect of Peirce’s thought and to help determine the contents of the forthcoming book.  This is also the second biannual meeting of the International Association of Centers for Peirce Studies. Invited Speakers: Vincent Colapietro, Charls Pearson, Nathan Houser. This announcement is also a “Call for Papers” on any aspect of current research on the topic of Peirce’s semiotic writings, or possibly on the topic of important future research that would be enabled by the publication of this book. A short (one page) abstract plus a short biosketch should be sent to Charls Pearson, 1367 Northview AvNE, Atlanta, 30306, USA. 404-892-1721. DrCharls@ComCast.Net DEADLINE: 27 February 2005. Email submissions are preferred.  All papers delivered at the symposium will be included in the symposium proceedings volume to be published as Studies in the Semiotic Writings of Charles S. Peirce.  Proceedings of the 2003 Symposium, Studies in the Religious Writings of Charles S. Peirce published by Legas Press, will be available.  More details and information at DrCharls@ComCast.Net.
